Dojo Etiquette Basics
Please respect our training area.
Leave shoes at the door, wear your mask over your nose and mouth, wash hands regularly, do not touch your face, use hand sanitizer as often as needed.
Sensei will be happy to speak to you in person, but reserve questions for before or after class times.
Please wear gi (plain, white gi preferred) or comfortable, loose-fitting clothing which cover your knees (not leggings).
Please sign waiver and arrange for mat fees prior to training.
If you or your training partner are injured during training,
notify Sensei immediately.
If you are late for training, change into your gi and sit on the mat edge formally seated, until the instructor signals permission for you to join the class.
To help keep the mats clean, ALL students are expected to assist with mat clean-up after class has ended.
Guidelines for entering / training inside the dojo are posted at the door.
Desert Aikikai and JKA Shotokan dojos follow the coronavirus pandemic guidelines for both city and state.
Desert Aikikai is excited to announce body arts classes have returned to the dojo!
